just started watching it, and Hattie and a man go into a bedroom and Hattie motions for Violet to follow them. Hattie and the guy are getting undressed and Violet goes in the room and closes the door. Then the next scene is Hattie and Violet have their picture made. Did Hattie want Violet to watch them?

Right, they definitely leave that open to interpretation because of the senseless cut to the next scene. Just another implication in the film of how depraved the situation is that Violet is living ?
