I may just be being silly, but I am sure that have seen this movie but it was slighly different from this one, being that the actors and actresses were different. Was this 1978 version a remake or something?? Hope someone can help, Cheers!!

I just looked at Roger Corman's film listing... his movies are like C or D crapola.

The remake was very similar, and was watchable , but the first was way better.

I'm not sure which version I watched, I just know it scared the living day lights out of me when I was 5. I didn't walk on the ground for a month and didn't go in to the lakes that summer. Me and my sisters were all paranoid. It also didn't help that my dad encouraged our fear by saying "keep an eye on your feet, that's the first thing the piranhas will get." It's probably not as horrible as I remember. Does anyone know which version I watched? It had kids in it at like a summer camp, with tubes and floaties and a beach. Also the scientists were worried because they let them out of sort of a wooden cage in some body of water. I just remember the kids on the tubes in the lake/river and then getting attacked. Maybe I watched a sequel?

It sounds like the newer version to me, the one with Soleil Moon Frye and Mila Kunis. The newer version is still in a lot of video stores, so if you're not sure you can either rent it or buy it off of Amazon...
