I agree. This film has drive in classic written all over it. After all, why else would people make a sequel and two remakes? The dullards at Hollywood aren't having any luck finding or stealing new ideas, but the fact that Roger Corman and Joe Dante made a serious go at something suspenseful and funny(not to mention considerable time with a low budget compared to Hollywood wasting millions on garbage) suggests these two men got their feet wet(no pun intended) and made the leap out of the secure circle of
Tinseltown's squares.
I love this movie, and it was even more fun seeing it as part of a double feature with "Avalanche."
shareWhen i first saw this movie i was 15 and was watching it with my little bro and thought it was excellent, the only thing i dont like is when the dog gets eaten. i also watched the second one and thought that sucked with flying fish

You know, for years I thought this movie starred Lee Majors, but after checking the cast list I see I was wrong. I guess I was thinking of Killer Fish. Anyone remember that one?
shareI HAVENT SEEN IT
shareI saw this one on TV back when I was about 8 years old, and I remember being afraid to go to the beach for a while after that.

(SPOILERS)
I saw it in a drive-in in 1978. Some scenes (kids getting eaten) were disturbing. Others ("Are you gay?" "Look, it's Superman!") were laughable. Not bad for a "Jaws" rip-off.
I remember seeing this for the first time when it was on a late-night movie schedule on one of the local channels. The next day, my family went over to the house of some friends of ours, and we were in their pond. Didn't think anything of it until I felt a couple fish swimming around my ankles. Nobody could figure out why I was making so much commotion trying to run out of the pond.
shareYeah, this film is an immensely enjoyable B-horror treat that holds up well on multiple viewings.
1,000 mini-bios and I feel like I'm just getting started
