'Why did we decide to row to our destination again?'

ha ha ha.

Characters can't even figure out that the threat of piranha attacks is miraculously reduced on streets, highways, walking paths.

reply

LOL, I was thinking the very same thing; why didn't they just walk among the river bank, haha

reply

Because when they set out on the raft the characters knew nothing about the Piranha. It is only later on when the threat is revealed.

Travelling by raft was no doubt the quickest way once the jeep was out of action and also I am sure in theory quicker than walking.

(oh and a scene of them walking through the forest would not be very exciting in a film called Piranha! :))

If characters in horror flicks weren't dumber than a bag of hammers, there wouldn't be any horror flicks.

reply

They never knew anything about the piranhas. They set out on the raft because it was the only way they could get the doctor to the dam so he could get medical attention.

reply

What everyone else said. Also, not everything along the river is accessible by foot.

reply

Yes, I didn't get that either. I'm sure they would've moved quicker as well.

The scientist knew about the piranhas, so that's no argument.
