There's a missing scene to this on the DVD- and its an important one.
A family is by the dock and the father is swimming by them and is attacked by the fish. The family helps him up and half his stomach is missing. He dies in front of them. I remember watching it when I was a kid and being mortified by it. Why isn't this in the movie anymore?

Even though there is no info about alternate versions of this film, I noticed mention of a TV edition which is 12 minutes LONGER than the normal version (generally the opposite of what occurs)that I guess I saw. May be that's where the missing scene you mention is.🐭
