Its hard to explain why it dosent really hold up today.
Most people liked it at the time , but it was the first in whats become "low brow" comedy , like American Pie , and youngsters prefer the modern versions of the same thing i guess

I still like it and still watch it today if its on and I am in the mood. Times have changed though and some people simply don't care for a lot of older films. This is 40 yrs old after all and comedy is something that often works best in the time it came out in and other people don't do well enjoying something from another time period without putting their more modern belief systems into it, they get offended more often than they should considering the age of the film and that it is fiction.

I don't find it very funny or entertaining. It is a very low brow, dim-witted generic film. Vastly overrated, it is a 4/10 from me.

I'm 37 and have always liked this movie a lot and it's my second favorite John Belushi movie after "Blues Brothers", I've discovered this movie on network TV since 1992.
