Because this movie was dreadfully boring and could not have possibly been less funny. After hearing about how great this movie is for my entire life, I was expecting to at least be mildly amused or chuckle a couple times. I pity you folks who are about 20 years older than me and grew up thinking this was good. Yuck.

There is storytelling in a real comedy. It's not a joke-a-second storm of quick cuts. We need to learn about the characters before we can laugh at them.

A lot of the jokes in this film have been re-done, parodied, and taken to extremes in other movies since, making this one look quite tame in comparison.

shareI definitely seem to recall gross jokes and jokes involving dicks in Animal House. And it's kind of strange to try and postulate it as something classy and "in good taste" when the film's so deliberately crass, irreverent and, well, less than politically correct.

shareI was born in 1991 and I love this movie! I know our generation is used to the quick pacing and snarky humor, but it's just a matter of taste. Don't yuck someone else's yum.
