The Hotel and village

Just noticed your enquiry.

The hotel is Armathwaite Hall, which is situated beside Lake Bassenthwaite in The Lake District. Some of the village shots were at Embleton, although I suspect that some were also taken in Bassenthwaite village itself.

I am rather puzzled by the date given for the film. It wasn't made in 1982. It was actually shot in 1978. I know this because I was on set for part of the time. The bus at the beginning of the film was my uncle's.

a real wasted opportunity IMHO, i was impressed with the look of the hotel but the movie never took advantage of such a beautiful location, focusing more on the surrounding wood and the campers' tent
