I remember seeing this years ago where I was SURE there was a brief close-in shot of the waterskier surfacing and thrashing around, head above water, before being dragged under. Literally a 2-3 second clip of her taking a breath before disappearing.

When I saw it again, I've only ever seen the underwater shot from behind where she's already beneath and it looks like the faintest cloud of blood begins to come up before we cut away; same with the divers at the start, you see the smallest trace of red before the shot changes.

I know they cut the death of one of the boat kids (Bob?) before release, but wonder if anyone knows if they cut some blood out for a lower MPAA rating?

Seems to be a fair few people with different memories of this movie?
Years ago, there was a thread on IMDB called 'Marge In The Sharks month's (in which people swore blind that they saw a shot of the last victim inside in mouth of the Great White Shark (although a recent 'Making Of Jaws 2' book, debunked such a scene) it does seem that people have different 'recollections' of this movie?

Personally, I swear blind that I remember a sequence from this movie (just after the Helicopter was dragged down) in which the Amity kids hear a rumbling in the water (expecting it to be the shark surfacing) but turns out to be the Helicopter pilots helmet popping out instead?
Which (like the scene you're referring to) can be remembered by no-one else?

Yes! I remember that thread.

I wonder if it's a case of seeing it at a young, impressionable age and our minds filling in the blanks to some degree.

There are the deleted scenes on the DvD that shows the Helicopter pilot getting attacked... they cut it out because they said they had too many body count deaths...!

I understand what you means, your brains play trick on you, you swear you remember. im sure you have that scene mix up with other scene from same franchize, possibly jaws 3D when lorraine mcfly get attack in water park.

i remember old imdb topic on marge in mouth, to. it was there long time. many people reply. there mind plays trick on them, tho. no one involve in movie can conform it, its a urban legned.
