NEW BOOK OUT ABOUT THE MAKING OF "JAWS 2"

Hello all. My name is Michael Smith and I am the co-author of the new book "Jaws 2: The Making of the Hollywood Sequel." It is an in-depth look at the making of our favorite sequel and tells the story that the "Jaws 2 Log" couldn't.

Over 300 pages long, the book includes new interviews with pretty much everyone who had a role in the making of the film, including Sid Sheinberg, Jeannot Szwarc, Carl Gottlieb, Joe Alves, original director and screenwriter John Hancock and Dorothy Tristan, Lorraine Gary, Jeffrey Kramer and ALL of the "Amity Kids." Also interviewed are the young actors who were originally cast and then fired when director Hancock was replaced, including Ricky Schroder.

If you're interested in the book, please drop me a line: [email protected] If you've already read it I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you!

I thought I read somewhere that the only footage with the shark that Hancock shot was the shark surfacing off shore during the hotel pool party. I think some scenes of sailboats was also his. I don't know of any footage with any actors that he shot that may have made it in. I think the script got rebooted heavily when Szwarc took over. I wish we knew more about the original version too.

In the book it is documented that the footage exists, or existed at one time, of the teenagers, and probably of Brody, Ellen, Vaughn, Petersen, original Hendricks, et al.

Lenora May, one of the Hancock teens stormed to Universal upon her firing, and demanded she at least be given the opportunity to see her scenes she shot, and they set it up so that she could.

Read the book! It's great!
