Anyone know the backstory of this? He was a priest on a swing for 5 seconds...hmmm.

This movie was fabulously creepy. Excellent.

I always wondered about that. He was an established star by 1978 having been in the 2 Godfather movies. I sometimes wonder if it was someone who just looked like Duvall. As you said, he's only on-screen for a couple of seconds.

You know that "six degrees of kevin bacon" thing, where you can link any actor to kevin bacon in only a few steps? Imagine how few steps you would need to link to this movie?

As brief as that scene was Robert Duvall is pretty damned famous.

I wonder what the greatest number of links is for a movie to connect to this, I am guessing the world record highest 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers number would be 3.

He was friends with the director, was in town that day and did a quick unpaid cameo.
