why did he look the same each time?

Hi there
I missed the beginning of this film and I've just watched the last 3/4hr so I must have missed the bit where lots of things are explained. Can someone tell me why he looked like Warren Beatty whatever body he was in? Did he just look the same all the way through only to the audience, and if so, why wasn't he played by different actors when the other actors were looking at him? Hope that makes sense.
Thanks

Outwardly he was still whomever's body he took over - but inwardly, he was still Joe Pendleton.

Same reason Sam Beckett was always played by Scott Bakula nomatter who he leapt into in Quantum Leap. The name at the top of the cast list and the main draw is Warren Beatty, so it's his movie and he gets the most screen time. it would be a waste of the movie's money to hire a big star like Beatty then show a whole lot of nobodies during the majority of the film

It was to show it was still the soul of Joe Pendleton regardless of what body he was in.

The only problem I had with the inwardly/outwardly part was that when he look in the mirror, he looked like Joe, not Farnsworth. If all that were true, Farnsworth would have been in the mirror, not Joe.

As I recall, Mason told him he'd still be him (Joe), but to everyone else he would look like the person (the body) he'd been given. So the audience can go along for the ride. Cool ride it was, too, until the end when Joe himself loses his identity. Sad.

I can understand it, but I don't like it none!--Cheyenne.
