fun, deep
beatty knows how to make movie
shareyeah!! you know even though it was funny, it was deep, that's a great way to describe it. It really makes you think, well it made me think about life. I loved it, i know a lot didn't.
shareHahahaha! I agree with you rogerharding and risey18.
This film is fun to watch and dramatic at the same time, but it was the ending that made me realize what a bittersweet movie it really was.
I love it though! Always will rememever it.
How I agree with youre comments about the last reel of "heaven can wait" my friend. I watched that last scene with Christie and Beattie and thought it exquisite- I guess were all romantics at heart !!!.
shareYes, I am a true romantic at heart. I get annoyed by a lot of corny and mushy stuff I either hear about and see from chick-flicks or other movies, or pick up lines:
Random Guy: Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?
My Friend: Will it hurt when I throw you into hell?
A fantastic movie! It made me laugh and at the end I was sad.
That's what a movie should be like...many movies I forget right after I saw them but stuff like this makes you think about it and you remember it always.
It's hard to pull off a romantic comedy that is also a supernatural comedy. In fact, nobody has done it since Heaven Can Wait. What seems effortless actually requires a great deal of talent.
Dyan Cannon is superb as a scheming, neurotic harridan, and Grodin is sublime as a sniveling, treacherous corporate functionary. Beatty and Christie have wonderful romantic chemistry. Beatty especially conveys the somewhat dense but good-natured core of the All-American jock. Basically he's a good guy, totally absorbed in sports but willing to stand up for what's right once injustice is brought to his attention.
I was 11 years old when I first saw this film.
My Dad died from cancer a few months prior to it's release; so I became obsessed with it. I found it funny, sad, deep and VERY therapeutic.
It was also my first Warren Betty crush.
Great Film!!!
A friend took me to see this movie on my 23rd birthday. It was the best present I'd ever had - not too many birthday presents are as memorable and I still remember that one.
