bad effects shot
What's the deal with that last shot of James Mason and the cameraman? Why does it look so bad?

shareThey had to film James Mason separately from the roaring crowd of players in the background in order to allow Mason to disappear from the scene after he says goodbye. Mason was then rotoscoped into the shot. It's how it was done with the technology of the day. Not sure about the cameraman aspect of the shot.
shareAlthough a 10 year old kid could fix it on Photoshop today.
