Should be rated higher
It's a classic
shareWonderful movie.
'That was a priceless Steinway' 'Not anymore'
I totally agree. I hadn't seen this in years and forgot how good it was. I was shocked to see the "6.8" rating. It IS a classic and should have a much higher rating.
shareEvery time I scan the schedule and see this movie listed, I must pop in to watch. Last night it was on the Movie Channel. I must now buy it for myself and family.
So many great scenes, too many to list. The Board meeting is a classic, and the interaction between Grodin/Cannon is so good.
My wife and kids have grown to really like it: Some outright funny scenes, lots of subtle humor and satire and yet a lot of touching and sad situations. The one with Corkel (Warden) and Joe (Beatty) in the locker room after the Super Bowl always reaches out and grabs me.
Overall, a very enjoyable movie which has staying power...hard to believe it came out 35 years ago
I agree. It's underrated today.
I think the film makes it all look so easy that some people don't give it credit for what it does.

Non-sequiturs are delicious.
