The listed goof about football rules isn't really a goof, for those that demand absolute realism vis-a-vis football. When this movie was being made, any player could advance a fumble at any time--- this was the rule until the start of the 1979 season---- this was a 1978 release. For those interested, the rule was changed as a result of the Oakland raiders "holy roller" play DURING the 1978 season.

Me being more familiar with the rules of both rugby codes I was wondering about that. We call them knock-ons and possession is usually regained by the other side via a scrum.🐭
