Does Kirk throw himself off the roof at the end, or did he fall? Thanks!

Umm...also, what does Gillian go on to do? Anyone know?

He definitely throws himself off. He had dedicated his life to finding his son and now his son is dead and I guess he felt he had nothing left to live for.
