He's the most psychotic villain in the film and the only person who can appear menacing even with one arm. Cassevettes nailed this role perfectly

Totally agree that he is a nasty bit of work in this. Watched it again last night and appreciated it more. Gave it a 6 on a previous viewing and that's gone up to an 8 now.
