This film indeed is classic...for its overall setting and time.
Goldie Hawn was the perfect choice as the vaguely naive yet sweet and kind Gloria (not the brainless or dimwitted blonde stereotype) and for Chevy Chase; who conceivably-the Vacation franchise (alongside Fletch) was pretty much what he (unfortunately) held to his name.
Hawn and Chase indeed were quite a chemical pairing, and should have made more films together (outside of Seems like old times) But alas, Chase had the iconic Vacation franchise success, and Hawn enjoyed her own separate career.
The rest of the lead and supportive cast equally were brilliantly talented. To some measure, the flow reminds me of Lethal Weapon. Glover and Gibson were so beautifully mismatched but blended, for making that series its box office success.
