"The Evil" is a genuinely scary and superior supernatural horror film which doesn't deserve its current obscurity. I keep hoping this fine fright flick would come out on DVD already.
Don't expect much and you will never be disappointed.
I watched this movie when I was maybe 5 years old and I loved it!Luckily I still have this movie on VHS and I watch it very often. It is one of the best horror movies for sure!

duh- Xcalate 1776 - of course it's dated- it's old (comparatively speaking.)
But in a similar way the original "The Haunting" was scary. Not a lot of gore, just suspense and a creepiness. Many people's affections (including my own) for this movie are because they saw it when it first came out & they were young. Pretty scary stuff for a 12 year old... back in 1978. Nowadays kids watch real beheadings on cnn.com
Dated is good, and this film is decent but not spectacular.
