Good special effects
for the time. Objects and people getting yanked around by the unseen force. Very creepy and realistic.
The ghost was well done too.
This flick makes a great double feature with The Nesting.

It's been 30 years since I've seen this film, but I remember being scared by it then. I've just found a VHS of this, so I can watch it again. I love these old-school horror films, which took themselves very seriously (but not too seriously so as not to have fun). No smugness or irony here.
shareYes the evil has really good special effects, I am watching it right now and I paused it, and came on the internet, compelled to find more info on how the hell did they make such good job with special effects especially when actors being blown and dragged / pushed away by this unseen force. One would say they used pulling wires but if they did, they did an amazing job in covering the traces... :)
shareWhen the girl is being pulled around before her clothes come off, the wires are visible. But you do have to look hard for them.
shareAbsolutely. This was the work of the devil.

the effects where very well done indeed.
shareGiven the budget and age of the film, yeah the special effects were stellar. The hold up pretty damn well 44 years later.
