...which made the lady scream and run off? (I know he says it later, but its difficult to make out).

Echo asks him straight after, and Orville replies, "I told her you had the clap"

You can actually make out Orville mouthing those words on a 2nd viewing (I'd be very impressed if anyone made that out on their 1st viewing before Orville's explanation)

When I was a wee lad and saw this movie in the theater, I asked my father what "the clap" was. He hesitated, then said, "It's a skin disease." He didn't specify which skin had the disease though!

I have a new philosophy. I'm only going to dread one day at a time.
