The movie just isn't the same anymore

Thanks to the IMDB trivia page we learn that this thing was initially made for Burt Reynolds when he was at the top of his game. (Smokey and the Bandit comes to mind).

I've seen this a hundred times and recently watched it knowing what I know and just can't buy it. Burt wouldn't have the intimidation factor that Clint has. I kept trying to put Burt in his place and had to think how much they had to change the floe of the movie because of that.

He'd be all kinds of funny so I'm not taking anything away from that idea but have a hard time buying it. Sorry.
