No mention of pregnancy
a young woman gets married in 1916 and there's no mention of her NOT being pregnant.

I don't recall any mention of pregnancy at all (in the movie itself). The only controversy was that they weren't married but were a couple, so they masqueraded as siblings (all 3 of them including Pee Wee from the Wanderers)
