Ramblin' Jack Elliot
I just recently saw this movie after many years, and noticed that it mentions Ramblin' Jack Elliot.
Does anyone know the connection between him and the movie? (It went by too fast for me to get it.)

Having just watched this film less than an hour ago, I can honestly say that Ramblin' Jack Elliott has nothing to do with this film. Early in the film, "Rubber Duck" mentions that Jack Elliott loves trucks... I think Elliott & Kristofferson were just good friends and musical colleagues. In my opinion it was just a name-drop...
Peace out.
Ramblin' Jack Elliott is more of a role model than a contemporary of Kris Kirstofferson's. In the intro for (a live version of?) the song 'Pilgrim' he talks about his inspiration for the song... "Ramblin' Jack Elliott had a lot to do with it..."
Great song, btw... highly recommended even for people with no love for country (myself included)..also attributed to inspiration from Johnny Cash, Dennis Hopper
I would imagine his mention in the movie is more of an homage than a simple name drop.
