Cameras (with a possible spoiler)

I watched this movie for the first time today. I was actually impressed with how good it was. I remembered when the song came out and the gas prices were so high and everyone started buying CB radios and all that fun. I had been using a CB for many years with my uncle, but that's a whole different story.

Anyway. About the subject of Cameras. I noticed that in several places we saw actual footage shot by a camera we see on screen. OK. for example, there is this one scene where (SPOILER ... MAYBE) a truck is driving along side the truckers and there are occasional cuts to the view from the truck with the person who is conducting interviews in the foreground, at times taking up a good portion of the screen. Later, during the last scene, there is a SteadiCam (c) operator behind the Governor and a few cuts later we see that view. This happens in several places and I was kind of started by it.

OK. One more place to watch. The news crews that are around by the tent. Some is toting a Panaflex (c) Camera. There is no way those were ever used by TV crews.

Just found this interesting.

Crew or equipment visible: "When Sheriff Lyle's squad car gets sandwiched by two trucks, the camera used inside the car is mounted in the rear, but its size was such that it couldn't be positioned out of shot of the second camera mounted on a flatbed trailer in front of the action"
