all time favorite movie

This movie is one of my all-time favorite movies! I found this movie on video back in January of 2000 and paid over a $100.00 for it. (through Amazon.com) then I started looking for the soundtrack on vinyl and found a mint copy (still in wrapper) on e-bay for over $40.00. I had a second copy but I think I sold it on ebay.
I remember when this movie came out back in 1978. I probably saw this flick at least a dozen times at the drive-in. You can call me crazy - but I used to take my battery operated cassette recorder to the drive in and record the audio of the movies (that had a country music theme such as Coal Miner's Daughter, Smokey and the Bandit, Outlaw Blues, Take This Job and Shove It etc.) All those tapes have bitten the bullet

I used to have the soundtrack of Convoy on 8-Track - If I only knew then what I know now.

I recently found this movie on DVD in a cut-out bin for $4.99 at Best Buy here in Orlando, FL. I have another one as well that I got from someone on ebay a few years ago but wouldn't play on my DVD player.

That's a big 10-4, it is definetly an all time favorite... it's now about 23 years, since i've seen that movie first time. I was about 5 years old. I never seen it on the big screen, that's too bad. But i have it on DVD... the uncut version from Germany. And the great soundtrack i found about 15 years ago on CD.
For sure one of the movies that you can dig out, if you don't know what to watch...

Wow, $100? I managed to find a classic EMI VIDEO copy from 1981 on Ebay for 0.99p and snapped it up. I totally agree about this being one of the best films ever made. It was, in fact, the very first video we ever rented (1981) and I've loved it ever since. Convoy was really popular in England and I was surprised to find out that the film was actually more popular and took more money in the UK and Europe than it did in the US. I loved it so much I even bought the novelisation from a second-hand bookshop last year. Not a patch on the film though

BTW what was cut from it?

Depends what version you've seen. In some versions the TV interview (with that reporter doing interviews while driving) was a lot shorter. What I heard, is that most DVD's are cut on that part.... but mine is complete.

Convoy is what made me want to become a truck driver. I drove OTR for two years.
