2 Disc Special Edition

I have written a long letter to United Artist for plans of a 2 Disc SE of Convoy. Here are the basics:

Disc 1:
Full Screen
Wide Screen
Two sets of Commentary by Cast (Kristofferson/MacGraw/Borgnine/Young) and Production (Robert Sherman/John Bruhn)
Movie Soundtrack
Trailer
Photos of Film Production/Memorabilia

Disc 2: Tribute to CW McCall
Interview w/Bill Fries (I have written agreement)
Interview w/Chip Davis
Convoy the Music (There are six different versions)
(Special Features)
Old Home Bread Commercials
Bill Fries TV Appearences
Best of CW McCall (trucking songs)
Parodies
Paul Brandt Music Video
VH1 and CMT Segments

Someone wrote on one of my convoy movie message boards that since Smokey and the Bandit and Dukes of Hazzard were released on dvd. UA might consider this, bringing back the truck/car crash and cb craze of the 1970's.

Since I heard that Hollywood was going to be doing a remake of 'Convoy' I decided to check it out. Here's what I got, according to hollywood.com.

Synopsis:
A group of U.S. truck drivers make a one-year commitment to drive goods for U.S. contractors through the Afghan war zone because of financial hardships back home.

As interesting as that may sound it doesn't really seem like 'Convoy' now, does it? I mean, the two characters that made the movie were the Rubber Duck and Dirty Lyle. I know remakes don't stick 100% to the original but this...this doesn't even sound like a remake to me.

Just thought I'd throw that out in there...

Aw, Man.....

Kudos to you for outlining one helluva plan for a 2-Disc SE of Convoy; In fact, I think the contents might be enough to fill a 3-disc 30th Anniverary ULTIMATE EDITION(since next year marks such an anniversary for Convoy), much less even a 2-disc.

If you look on the thread marked "Terrible DVD", you'll see that I ripped Cheezy Flicks Entertainment, ltd. a New one over their piss-poor "Special" Edition. If you haven't seen it, Avoid it like the plague!!!!!! Enough said....

And let's Hope that MGM(Who holds the home Video rights for all UA features old and new) will take heed of your proposal for the 2-disc SE and run with it before next year is out!
