Fast Trucks, Fast Women, + Fast Food...
words to live by (oh, and fast drugs too, which Peckinpah was apparently taking copious quantities of at this point). Not a great movie, but after a few beers this actually starts to seem good (well, OK, maybe more than a few). Even better when viewed at midnight at a drive-in theater, if you can find one these days. Not as pretensious, faster paced, and a lot more fun than other late Peckinpah like The Killer Elite and Osteman Weekend. Still being better than those movies is no great achievement. However, this movie is just smart enough to know how dumb it really is so it is hard not to like it just a little. Your better off catching his quite good Cross of Iron, and avoid anything else Peckinpah did after 1974's Alfredo Garcia...unless of course you have a few six packs and some 70's CB nostalgia, then dig in by all means, but shut your brain off.
