At the diner

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but when Pigpen is smashing the windshield of the cruiser, the Duck says: "Hey Bobby, you'd be better pulling the plugs on that thing". Now if Pigpen and the Duck just met on the CB in the scene before this one, how did the Duck know Pigpen's first name was Bobby?

reply

All those truckers listen to the CB chatter constantly on the road and he probably overheard "Bobby's" real first name in the chatter we didn't hear in the dialog.

Don't buy it? LOL! Well it's one possibility but good find anyway.

That's one theory. But I've been a trucker for over 30 years and someone's real name very rarely gets spoken over the CB. Thanks for the compliment though.

Don't they already know eachother?
After The Duck gets pulled over by the first cop, he gets on his CB to warn others about the cop. Pigpen answers, and then when they a little later have visual contact with eachother, The Duck says "Don't you recognize who this is"? He either recognized Bobby's voice or remembered, who he was, from his handle. Or both.

i dont know either, but RD calls him Bobby several times in the movie, never by his handles, that i can remember. so they must have met at some other time, and only RD recalled his name.

its was funny to see everyone's reaction to RD's real name, wasnt it!
