Sheriff Cottonmouth: Burt Reynolds
Spider Mike: Terry Crews
Melissa: Jessica Alba
Widow Woman: Pam Greer

Coen Brothers Remake would be awesome I doubt they would do it though.

Here's my two bits:

Martin 'Rubber Duck' Penwald: Jason Statham
Melissa: Evangeline Lilly
Sheriff Lyle 'Cottonmouth' Wallace: Kris Kristofferson, or Terry O'Quinn
Bobby 'Love Machine' 'Pig Pen': Vin Diesel
Widow Woman: Lucy Liu
Spider Mike: Lance Reddick

Rubber Duck can do more action fighting, more stuntwork.
Melissa is just the sweet little lady, but with the kick of a mule, as in equal action.
The Sheriff would be an honorary role for Kris, or a more cruel, sadistic version for Terry.
Vin Diesel would be an awesome trucker and great backup for the Rubber Duck: action fighting together, physical stuff and so on.
Lucy Liu would be a welcomecastmember: sweet, but a tough cookie to handle.
And Lance Reddick is just a very, very sympathetic guy to play Spider Mike.

The remake should get more physical fighting, more damage done by trucks, and better action in the chasing with the police and army. Make the payloads more dangerous aswel.

A remake like this would kick major ass and with the new success, sequels are easy to make, if needed.

I like your choices. Good casting if they got tarantino or rodriguez to direct you'd have a kickass movie

This doesn't need a remake; it's fine the way it is.
