Apparently Studio Canal owns the rights or does MGM/UA own the rights?
So why no official region 1 store release yet. I thinks it's still the studio wants a marketing analysis rather than fan analysis. I guess 200,000 hits on my www.convoytm.com is'nt enough.

MGM has the US rights (and another reason why it has currently shown up on their MGMHD channel) while studio Canal/Universal released this new remastered print on dvd everywhere else in the world

If I cant get it in Walmart, or a Special Edition with no commentary, interveiews/etc. It's not available in R1. A few movies are like that R1. Some movies are special edition R1 and are not released in stores, explain that. I have contacted MGM, UA, Studio Canal and they all refused to reply. I have slowly gathered a few involved in filming and just for lack of financing wont get involved for a special edition.
Im Convoy's, ultimate fan, no one knows/loves this movie better than me. So for all these "alledged/apparent" dvd releases, the real one, proper one as not been released.
The only respectable one I consider is Kinowelt's.

You can purchase Convoy at FYE stores or via their website for $14.95 or less. I picked up a copy a few years ago and plays fine. Was nice to finally own a copy after years of trying to get it on video.. rarely even found it on VHS and when I did, it was in a video store and they wouldn't sell it or just priced out of my price range at the time. Was very surprised when I finally found it for $15.

This film has just been released on both Region 1 DVD and Blu-ray from Kino Lorber with a wealth of great extras.
