What's the name of the song that they are playing before Bruce Dern finally confronts Jane Fond about her affair towards the end of the movie the song comes on right before he talks to Jon Voigt and it ends when he starts to confront her.
Is it Time Has Come Today by The Chambers Brothers? I'm not positive about it but I can rule out MOST of the other songs on the soundtrack since I'm familiar with them.
Once I was a hunter by Tim Buckley if memory serves. He was Jeff Buckley's father. I think it was on the album Happy/Sad if I remember correctly. It came out in the fall of '67 when I was a freshman in HS. It was on Electra Records at the time. I have no idea who has it now. Probably Rhino is a good bet.
He was something else. He's been largely forgotten but he was quite a talent in the late 60s, early 70s.
Actually "Once I Was" was on Buckley's second lp, "Hello/Goodbye", an amazing collection of songs. His career is fascinating and sad. And a great voice through at least his first four albums.
You can hear him also on a superb 2-disc Cd entitled "Tim Buckley, Dream Letter", Live in London (Enigma), which came out about five years ago.
Tragically, Buckley abandoned his wife early in the marriage when his son was very little, and rarely saw him afterwards. Yet he wrote a couple of very moving "father-son" songs. Tim died of a drug overdose in the mid 70s, his son drowned.
