Why in the UK is this film is rated 15?

The 15 rating seems a bit over the top it plays like an Agatha Christie.

I agree that it seems over the top but in the UK violence/horror has always been the cause of more stringent ratings than nudity or sex. Hammer Films tended to be rated X for 18 and above whereas nudity was, at least by the late 60s, not uncommon on broadcast TV. (This, of course was the complete reverse of the attitude in the US.

Having said that, it could be that the repeated use of the word (and I censor it in case IMDB disappears it) "B*****ds", doesn't help.

lol they did say "B*****ds" a lot

I guess the censorship rating board members were all bastards.

Funny... That the highest rated Catcand the Canary is not the 1927 classic but the 1939 Bob Hope version... It's my favorite too... While 1927's and this one tied for 2nd...
