How about a reboot of Capricorn One? If so? Here is an ideal cast for it

Charles Brubaker: Gary Sinise or Josh Brolin or Kiefer Sutherland

Peter Willis: Mark Wahalberg or Tom Hardy or Zachary Quinto

John Walker: Will Smith, or LL Cool J or Jaleel White

Dr. James Kelloway: Arnold Schwarzenegger or David Patrick Kelly or Bill Bob Thornton or Kevin Spacey

Judy Drinkwater: Natalie Portman or Sandra Bullock

Robert Caulfield: John C. Reilly or Will Ferrell or Johnny Depp

Walter Loughlin: Robert Redford or Michael Moore or Robert Englund

Albin: Samuel L. Jackson (perfect since he's bald and command of the potty mouth) or Bruce Willis or R.Lee Ermey or Stone Cold Steve Austin

Schwarzenegger as Kelloway... Oh god, someone make the images in my brain stop!

I'm sorry, but some films simply cannot be remade: "Get Carter" is living proof of that!

Why do something as horrible as that, to this film?

Besides, where are you going to get a Saturn 5 rocket nowadays? CGI just doesn't cut it.

I'll agree on the not all films can be remade, there's a handful of decent ones though - Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1978) The Thing (1982) Dawn Of The Dead (2004) etc. The CGI Saturn V in Apollo 13 (1995) looked convincing enough.

Dawn of the Dead was anokay remake - the others...'eh...

Apollo 13's CGI was still in it's infancy, but even M.I.B. III's CGI wasn't all that hot.

Then again, I'm biased: I watched the real ones blast off back in the day - NOTHING will ever compare to that!!! Even on a screen, the roar of the 5 engines, the smoke, the ground rumbling - even the Shuttle launches weren't as dramatic as seeing a Saturn 5 going up. I sincerely do appreciate the attempts at duplicating them, but as I said, some things just can't be duplicated.

They were truly a sight to behold!
