Crappy editing
The DVD copy I saw the other day runs 122 min, and here it says running time 125 min. So hardly any difference worth mentioning.
That being the case, I wonder why the editing of the scenes in bootcamp seem so crappy. At times, the story just jumps ahead, all of a sudden the youngsters are beat up, but no fight. The hippie character (Bisbee?) has his face bashed, but it's a wild guess where that came from. And so on ands so forth. Actually, also later during the film there's hard cuts which screw up continuity.
And jeez, that socker game, it was rather long, wasn't it - reminds me of the ongoing football (rugby) match in MASH.
