This was an extremely well acted, well written scene by these two men. Really fine, but I don't understand why Lloyce treat Tyrone almost as an equal for lack of a better word. He was just another grunt. But, again, a wonderful scene between these two.

Loyce knew that Washington had already written them all off, but he also knew they could be trained to follow a natural leader, whether it was Loyce or Washington
Washington had leadership abilities and a was a little bit smarter than the others. He didn't want to be the leader of that group, but was best suited for it, whether he liked it or not. He finally gave in and began helping when he knew his own life may depend on it.
