I have a question. In the beginning of the film when they visit the bar, Tyrone W. talks about different cities to traffic heroin etc. to someone in there. Is that what he was talking about? Did he intend to traffic heroin in Vietnam? Then later, when Col. Trang confronts him about his plans to ship heroin to the U.S. in body bags, Tyrone blows him off. Did he do this because of the way things were going with the boys in Company C.? Like, their own dying etc.?
Yes, his intent was to traffic heroin in the caskets of the dead GIs. But his moral compass seemed to switch during his travels with the other Marines.
What a piece of crap movie... just saw it recently, and it was even worse than I remembered it to be. "Major Private" Tyrone (that's nothing with 3 rockers), is a big-time drug dealer, running the platoon, ordering lieutenants and captains around... I'm surprised he didn't win the war for us! And the soccer game!!! Yeah, I remember all those soccer games we played... hardly had time for anything else! B/S! When the film was made, "the powers that be" were trying to promote soccer in the U.S. (Google "Cosmos" and "Pele"). "Victory" is another soccer promo movie that sucked just as badly. Just MAO.
YOU'RE - "you are", -> "you're stupid". YOUR - possession of "you", -> "your head is up your ass".
