what is it about '70s and '80s movies that is better than nowadays movies, the look and feel?

i was thinking it's the producing or directing, then i thought about the kind of quality cameras that the director used in the '70s and '80s compared to nowadays. then i thought oh, it's filming with film in the '70s and '80s compared to filming on digital. it seems more realistic a movie on film compared to digitally.

I think movies from the 70s convey the mood of the country. That's why most movies from the 80s seem cheerful!
