Narrator
Does anyone know who is narrating this movie? I didn't see it in the credits and the voice sounds so familiar. It sounds like Ron Howard but it's probably not him.

sharefrom another post...
"Robert Englund AKA Freddie Krueger is the Narrator"
thats why you recognise the voice
"They figured he was a lazy time wasting slacker. They were right"
Thanks. I never noticed that. It's strange that he would narrate because he played such an obscure background character. Maybe his big scenes were cut out along with "The Speech".
shareindeed, it's been a while since i've seen the movie and was struggling to remember him even being in it! as for the cuts, i only know what i've read here. the movie works ok for me as is, but maybe a directors cut dvd wouldn't go amiss!

More important..how can one get soundfiles of the narrating???!!
i've made several surfing music tapes and always wanted the narration for
my soundtracks..even bought the music soundtrack with no luck.
I NEED THOSE CORNY VOICEOVERS !
Robert Englund played a character called Flea who has but one line of dialogue in the film -- "Stay casual, Barlow" -- on the night of Jack Barlow's enlistment party. Flea is in the background in many of the scenes, however, which legitimizes his narrating the story. It's also his first person voice in the novelization by Denny Aaberg and Milius (which is, like the script, beautifully written, very Conrad-influenced).
