'Tom and Jerry' episode

I saw like the first ten minutes of this one, maybe. A kid makes odd voices and sounds in class, to the bemusement of his teachers. Later, we hear(but not see) him imitating the sounds of Tom and Jerry fighting each other to the death, in order to entertain someone(his father?) At that point, I had to go somewhere, so I stopped watching it.

What was supposed to be the kid's problem? Was he mentally ill? Was he a frustrated comedian? As I recall, his routines seemed rather clever, which made me think maybe the point was that he had no outlet for his talents, but then the mood of the Tom and Jerry scene was rather ominous.

So, what was the deal?

The guy had personal issues I guess. He someday wanted to be a comedian. If I remember correctly he ended up pulling a gun on the class

Thanks. I'm now remembering the part in the promo for the episode where he pulls the gun in class.

the actor playing the student who makes noises was played by Michael Winslow, you may remember him from the police academy movies.

wow that was the same guy? I didn't even realize that
