question about a shower song

The team sang a lot of songs in the shower...Reese and Curtis Jackson had particularly good voices...here's some questions:

1. In the first season episode, "LeGrand Finale", they sang a rendition of "I Do"...who originally sang "I Do"? I know J. Geils Band had a remake of it in the early 80's.

2. In the second season, in "Cross-Town Hustle", the team celebrated Reese not going to Oak Ridge by shoving him in the shower and doing a rendition of a song called "Man, oh Man"...any info on that song?

reply

I always assumed they were overdubbed voices.

Don't know anything about those songs, but why is Phil Jeffers singing in the shower with them instead of Hayward at the end of Crosstown Hustle?

reply

Hayward was supposedly out on suspension because of the fight that apparently took place in the game at the beginning of that episode...I'm just guessing here, but perhaps Thomas Carter was cutting his teeth as a director or was at least learning the ropes from someone else during that one.

As for Phil showering...your guess is as good as mine. I don't ever remember the manager on my high school team showering with us...

reply

the song " I do" is by The Marvellows 1967
and the song "Man oh Man" is by the Impressions 1966
