Thorpe's racist remark in season three

...I am very happy to see that many episodes from the ever-elusive season three are right here for viewing at the IMDB!

One funny thing is a racial crack Thorpe made in the episode No Blood No Foul, where Salami gets arrested for breaking some punk's jaw during a game...the opposing team was playing very physical, and during a break in the play when everyone is huddled around Reeves, Thorpe says, "Cracker was all over me!"

LOL now it doesn't really bother me, just a little surprised, Thorpe is my fave character and I found it funny more than anything. Thorpe always had great lines, even about race, like when he was dating the white girl, and explained to her that her dad was surprised Thorpe was "of the colored persuasion." Actually there's a few more racially-tinged jokes in the episodes I'm watching in S3 than S2 definitely.

Season three on the whole I am finding is only good when the four remaining champ players are the focus. Except for Stone, who is such a goofball clown you have to laugh (but who was pretty good in the 'hero' episode), the new guys are all just lame unfortunately. Makes you realize what an amazing, amazing cast there was on that team the first two seasons. And great to see Hayward in the season opener!

Nice that season 3 is up here (for the most part). Now I can say that I've seen all 54 episodes.

This is one of the very few shows where even the weak episodes are very good. Season 3 has several episodes that are intended to be comedies (Vanity Fair and When Your Numbers Up Get it Down are the most extreme examples of this), but this is the best series I've ever seen about inner city teenage life. It's funny that the 3rd year continues to focus on Thorpe, Coolidge and Salami. Mitchell and Franklin seemed to not have very much personality (or we never got to see it). It seems like there are probably some scripts from the last season somewhere. I'd like to know what they planned to do with these characters.

Another thing I noticed is that when they cast a guest actor who really was a teenager (like David Hubbard or Hayward Nelson) it just makes it all the more obvious how old the regular actors were.
