What episode was this?

A black kid gets out of jail, returns to school and see a white coach on the basketball team and says "This is the most racist school, in the most racist city, in the most racist country in the world." And the assistant director corrected him saying "I only see one racist, and I'm looking at him right now!"

You're thinking of "Albert Hodges" - Season 2.

Thanks.

I thought it was pretty sad how all the kids were so quick to cry racism towards the coach who went out of his way to help each and every one of them at one time or another.

The players never cried racism towards Reeves; only Hodges. They even kept trying to convince Albert how wrong he was. They knew all along he was wrong about Reeves; at the end, when the team came running in at the last minute for the game which they were going to boycott, Thorpe said to Reeves, "we think Albert was right about some things...not about you." Coach then agreed to meet with the black players later to talk things out.

Yes they did stick up for the coach at first and tried to convince albert he was wrong, but then they started to buy into Albert's BS and accused the coach of naming Salomi as captain because he's white and not putting ALbert on the team because he's black. Don't you remember the scene in the Gym where they said they thought he did it because Salami is white? They made not have said flat out "you're a racist", but they may as well have. Up until the last minute, they were going to boycott that game. Even at the last minute Hayward said "but what if the coach really had it in for the dude. We can still prove our point by sitting out the game". Jackson Finally convinced them to just let it go and they showed up for the game and in the end they all realized how incredibly stupid they were when they realized the coach was the one who helped Albert get into college
