'Glee'/ 'White Shadow' similarities

Some characteristics of "Glee" remind me of "The White Shadow". Coach Ken Reeves, was a former basketball player who took over coaching a losing high-school basketball team, trying to restore the team to glory. Sybil Buchanan, the school's vice principal, was constantly at odds with Ken. "Glee"'s lead character, Will Schuster is a former high-school glee clubber who takes over the faltering glee club, hoping to restore it to its former glory. Sue Sylvester, the cheerleading coach, is constantly at odds with Will. Also, the members of the basketball team did some singing outside of playing basketball, and the glee club members include two athletes as well three members of the cheerleading squad.
