True. But on the other hand, it was just one kiss and they never saw each other again after the episode (never being seen again was typical of WS girlfriends). I don't think that time period (TV ca. 1979) was ready for an ongoing relationship between a Black guy and a White Girl. Also, the girl was portrayed as a perceived slut.
In 1990, a show called "True Colors" was on Fox TV. I think it was the first show specifically about a Black man/White woman relationship. The show was only on for a couple of seasons. Anyway, I remember reading in the TV guide that the actors said they received death threats for doing that program.
