In the pilot episode Miss Buchanan says something about Abner Goldstein becoming the next Baby Face Nelson. She was giving Ken a rundown on some of the kids on the team, Baby Face Nelson was a famous criminal. Nothing in the series ever showed Goldstein doing anything like that. That character must have been a touch different when they were writing that pilot.

Maybe Sybil Buchanon should have compared Goldstein to Mickey Cohen, Bugsy Siegel or Meyer Lansky.

shareYeah I get ya but you could have said smart Jewish guys that were NOT gangsters. That would've made the point better. Like Goldstein was gonna be the next Dustin Hoffman or Spielberg. My point was the line makes no sense considering there was nothing devious about him and I wonder why that line stayed in the pilot. I wonder if Goldstein and the other guys were at Ken Howard's funeral ....I hope they were there.
