Ken and Sybil

Anyone disappointed that The White Shadow never pursued a potential relationship between these two? I think as the first season went on, it became very obvious that Ken and Sybil had definite chemistry, and the show seemed to play up the tension a bit too. It even got to where there was undeniable flirting between the two, as opposed to merely kidding around. But as the second season rolled around, the show seemed to switch gears and ignore it - Ken went out on more dates and Sybil got pregnant and even her ex came back - kind of putting the brakes on one of the shows great dynamics, being where will Ken and Sybil take it next? Was it the black/white thing? Or someone's objections? It seems like the show blew a real good thing here by now having Ken and Sybil at least go out on a real date.

I"m glad they didn't go that route. Yeah it would've been cutting edge for the time, but I don't think that was necessary. There were already enough social issues that were dealt with on this show. They seemed to be good friends, but I didn't really notice and outright flirting between them

I don't think it would have clashed with the show's issues if they made the Ken/Sybil thing a secondary ongoing thing and not a main focal point of a show. I think they flirted though, just one for instance was when Sybil kind of looked at Ken suggestively and said she loves a man in uniform lol. It really would have picked up in season thre I think now that she was principal. But of course all opinions are valid, no right or wrong really. :)

I don't remember the scene. I think it's been over 15 years since I watched this series. But hey, I see your point. I"m still glad they didn't do the storyline though. lol
I liked the way their friendship developed. At the beginning they were at each other's throats and she thought he was some obnoxious cheuvenistic (I know I mangled that spelling) pig. As the series progressed she realized how good a person he was and how much he cared about the kids

It would have been awesome if Sybil's baby was tan and looked just like Ken Reeves. That sounds like a soap opera, not "The White Shadow". But the late Ken Howard did play Garrett Boydston on "Dynasty" and its spin off "The Colbys" in the mid '80s.

That would have even jungle fever!!!
