Morris Thorpe and Nick Vitaglia were my favorite characters, then I never seen them in other rules, I don't knew Kevin Hooks made so many tv movies as director!

Wardell Stone and Eddie Franklin from season 3...Stone because he was a total goofball and Franklin because Coolidge finally had somebody who could stand toe-to-toe with him (besides Coach Reeves) and punk his ass when he needed it.
Also liked Hayward...had attitude, but deep down a smart guy who just wanted the chance to get out of the ghetto and be successful.
I like Mario "Salami" Patrino. He had some of the best soptlight episodes. "The Great White Dope" was great as well as "Salami's Affair". His character seemed to be well respected by the others + he always had his funny moments. He was a pretty natural behind the camera considering TWS was his first acting job.
shareI'd have to say Coolidge- he was funny and I like his height. He reminds me that he's one of those gentle giant types.
shareSalami. I had a crush in him all 3 seasons. I like the fact that he wasn't the best player, but seemed still had heart and hustle. plus, the Motel california! Hello, he was every girls dream. I also liked the coach. I always wished I had a coach/teacher as cool as him. Haywood was also great. I liked the fact that he was smart but not a nerdy Urkle type.
shareGOLDSTIEN IS MORE LIKE URKEL

Hands down, my favorite character was The Coach Ken Reeves. He made the show as great as it was!!
shareHaywood. He was the street and hood because of his environment, but also smart and progressive so to get himself OUT of that same environment. He was the only one on the team who knew he had a bright future ahead for himself.
shareBittersweet imagining what would have become of those characters in the long run- Haywood, Thorpe and Rutherford probably would have made it out of the hood, gone to college etc. Also Goldstien, but for the others it seemed like their teen years might've been the best years of their lives. Like the actor playing him, Reese struck me as someone who would have died young.
How do I chose! Coolige merely for his presence, plus he was a great foil for Reeves--others (hate to use the term runners up for this) Thorpe for his sarcastic outlook--there was something about Reese I like that I cant quite put my finger on, and Heywood seemed to stand out. On a personal level, being (essentially) a New Yawk guy, I related well to Vitaglia (in particular to the baseball cap and jacket he always seemed to wear...) and I must admit, I was a bit of a Goldstein during my HS days (and I was on the Soccer, but not Basketball team)so guess I have aome sympathy towards Abner...
shareTHORPE!
sharelove em all, but coach reeves seemed like a nice guy, funny when he got mad...\\
as for pure looks, ellen, the teacher/girlfriend was hot, nice eyes...
i liked coolidge, cracked me up how he was so lovable but could intimidate when needed....loved the golf ep when coach told thorpe knickers went out w/gene sarazen and coolige was like "who you calling knicker?"...
James Hayward, he was tough, smart, and eventually made it to college.Coolidge, Thorpe, and Salami were cool also.
shareI related a lot to Goldstein. My last name is Goldberg. I was also raised by my grandparents in a neighborhood that was mostly Black and Latin. People think all Jewish people are wealthy and/or live in the suburbs. I can testify that is a huge steaming pile. I stood out like a turd in a punch bowl my entire life. After a while it stopped bothering me.

shareMy favorite character has always been Thorpe.
shareSalami has the cutest tinkle!!!
