Fave Inmate - Prisoner (1979) Discussion

My favourite inmates are Reb keen, Doreen Burns, Bea Smith and Myra Desmond, I think they are great characters. I'm waiting for the re-run to be aired in England as I didn't get to see it first time round and when the re-run was on around 2000 and the early 90's I didn't get to see them all cos I was only about 8 when it was on in the 90's and I didn't relise it was on a few years back untill near the end. I hope there is a re-run soon!!!

Prisoner is my all time favorite TV show. It is excellent.

My fav inmates were:

The Freak Ferguson
Myra Desmond
Angel (If anyone can remember her I'll be happy), she was a cute girl with blonde curly hair and was a pure bitch who acted innocent but did nasty things.
Reb Keane

The ones I didn't like and just wanted to leave:

Rabbit Warren (what ever her name was), she left when she got married on the show
Well thats it, I thought there was more, but it was such a great show, there were few I didn't like.

Reb was my favourite...I used to watch it with my mum when I was younger, I miss it so badly! I used to try and dress like Reb and put the comb through my hair all the time...how sad I was haha

Frankie Doyle was the best prisoner, probably the most complex, interesting character and one that you felt lot for, shame she left early.

For comedic value I loved Noeline Bourke,her one liners were brilliant!

Of the screws it has to be Vera Bennet, again it was great the way the writers explored her charachter, her ruthlessness with the prisoners, and then showing her sad lonely life on the outside, and of course the Freak was great too

I also love Lizzie, Bea and Nola for being a fab villain!

Work is the curse of the drinking classes...

Bea. Also Lizzy, Mouse, Judy, Helen Smart. I can think of so many others (e.g., Doreen, Sandy Edwards (the one who disappeared)...), but I'm trying to be concise.

Update: After watching more episodes (I've seen roughly half of them so far), I've discovered others that I like: Cass, Minnie, and Pixie. The latter annoyed me at first, but I find her funny/entertaining, and I like that she can amuse the other prisoners and help morale. Plus she found a job that she loves doing and is really good at. How many people can say that?

Still, if I had to pick just one, it would be Bea.
